GREEN SERIES

Inspired by photographers Cindy Sherman and Man Ray this series explores themes of glamour, sensuality, high fashion and surrealism. By using a bold green light, excessive jewellery and a jewel covered model I aimed to create a series of paintings with a  glamorous curated female character, almost reminiscent of a screen siren or an archetypal seductive female actress.

Fern #12 depicts a serene appearing woman removing or putting on her earrings, with layered imagery showing this everyday action. Is she removing her earrings after a long day on set? Or is she at her vanity mirror getting ready to walk a red carpet? With this painting I aimed to create an enchanting imagined scene with the storyline up to the viewer.
